Sealing of the Spiritual Israel

The Seventh Seal

[1] -Ver. 4. A hundred and forty-four thousand, a symbolical number which signifies a great multitude, I.e., all the foreknown, and therefore given the grace, in their confession of Christ, to life eternal. In the enumeration of the twelve tribes Ephraim is replaced by Joseph, and Dan is not mentioned at all, for .the “Antichrist is to-come out of Dan” according to the Church Fathers.
