[A] The meaning in the Greek is those things which must happen quickly when they do happen.

[1] -Ver. 4. Asia: the RomanProvince of Asia, the western part of what is now known as Asia Minor. The seven spirits: the Holy Spirit, whose seven gifts are diffused among all the churches; or the phrase may refer to seven angels.
[2] -Ver. 5. Washed: some Greek Manuscripts have “loosed”.
[3] -Ver. 8. The Alpha and the Omega: the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. God is the first beginning and the last end. The Latin translator added the meaning of Alpha and Omega.
[4] -Ver. 10. The Lord’s day: Sunday, the first day of the week.
[5] -Ver. 12. The sense is: “To see what voice it was that spoke to me.”
[6] -Ver. 15. The image is that of brass glowing in the refiner’s furnace.
